# Themes & appearance

> Choose a look, fine-tune the interface, and import or share custom themes.

Panther's look is fully yours to change. Pick from the built-in themes, install themes made by the community, or open the customizer and design your own — with a live preview as you tweak.

Everything here lives under **Settings → Appearance** (press <kbd>/</kbd>, type `STG`, then choose **Appearance**).

## Switching themes

Use the **Color Theme** dropdown to switch instantly — no restart needed. The built-in themes:

| Theme             | Look                                          |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| **Panther**       | The signature look — navy with gold accents   |
| **Default**       | Pure black with classic trading colors        |
| **Purple**        | Elegant dark mode with purple accents         |
| **Slate**         | Darker slate backgrounds with purple accents  |
| **Coder**         | Editor-style dark palette with blue accents   |
| **Panther Light** | Clean light mode — white canvas, blue primary |

## Community themes

Choose **Community Themes** to browse a gallery of themes made by Panther and by other users. Each card shows the theme's name, author, description, and color swatches.

* **Search** by name, or sort by most installed.
* Click **Install** to add a theme to your list — it's ready to activate right away.
* The theme you're using shows as **Active**.

  Made something great in the customizer? Community themes are contributed by users like you — share yours so others can install it.

## Build your own: the customizer

Choose **Customize Theme** to open the theme customizer. Start from any base theme and make it yours:

    Choose the theme to start from — your changes layer on top of it.

  <Step title="Adjust the colors">
    **Quick** mode exposes the colors that matter most: background, foreground, primary accent, border, gain/loss colors, and the Kalshi/Polymarket venue colors. **Advanced** mode opens every token.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Watch the live preview">
    The preview panel renders an order book, P\&L readouts, and buttons in your palette as you edit — so you see exactly how trades will look before committing.

  <Step title="Save it">
    **Save as New** adds it to your theme list. Use **Export** to save it as a file you can share, or **Import** to load one someone sent you.

## Beyond colors

The Appearance section also controls:

* **UI text size** — scale the whole interface up or down with a slider.
* **Animations** — turn transitions on or off.
* **Window rounding & padding** — rounded panel corners and breathing room around the layout.
* **Titlebar balance** — show or hide your balance in the top bar (handy for streaming or screenshots).
* **Data grid options** — crosshair cursor, cell highlighting, and other table behaviors.

  Themes apply per device, and your custom themes stay with you. On desktop, imported themes are stored as files you can back up.
