# Set up on-chain trading

> Sign in, fund your wallets, verify identity for Kalshi, and place your first on-chain trade.

On-chain trading is the default way to trade in Panther, on both desktop and web. Setup takes a few minutes and, after the first time, there's nothing more to configure.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign in">
    Sign in with your email, phone, Google, or GitHub. The first time, Panther automatically creates your two secure, self-custody wallets — one for Kalshi, one for Polymarket. You'll see a brief **“Setting up your account”** screen.

    See [Sign in & your wallets](/accounts/sign-in) for details.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add funds">
    Open **Balances** (<kbd>/</kbd> → `BAL`), choose **Deposit**, and fund your account. You can send USDC from an exchange or wallet, use the **Any chain** address, or buy with a card.

    See [Adding funds](/accounts/deposits) for every option.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify your identity (for Kalshi)">
    Before your first **Kalshi** trade, complete a one-time identity check. Open **Settings → Trading** and choose **Verify Identity**, then follow the steps.

    Polymarket trading needs no identity verification.

    See [Verifying your identity](/trading/identity).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Place a trade">
    Open any market, choose **Yes** or **No**, enter an amount, and confirm. Your fill and position appear right away.

    See [Placing an order](/trading/placing-orders).
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  On-chain trading may roll out gradually. If you don't see trading options yet, you may be on the waitlist — you can still browse, chart, and use demo mode in the meantime.
